Timeline for EU accession to Montenegro and Albania: first enlargement since 2013
If it is within the European Union, the block will expand from three to 29 Member States in the next three years. Montenegro must be given EU membership in 2028 and Albania is on its way to enter into 2029, the European Commission will be informed on Wednesday.
