Privacy at IntelMap.

IntelMap is designed to work without user accounts. The core map and intelligence feed are public.

Reader activity

When a signal is opened, IntelMap records a salted, short-lived signature derived from network and browser information to prevent duplicate counting. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the popularity database.

Watch zones

Geographic watch zones are stored only in your browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded to IntelMap. Browser notifications are delivered only after you grant permission.

Maps and satellite imagery

The basemap loads from OpenFreeMap. NASA GIBS is contacted by your browser only after you enable Satellite mode; as with any direct web request, those providers can receive standard connection information such as your IP address and user agent.

Email alerts

Email delivery is a future feature and is currently disabled. IntelMap does not collect email addresses or send email.

Error reports

Anonymous correction reports are stored privately for editorial review. A salted reporter signature is retained to limit abuse.

Advertising and providers

Advertising scripts are not loaded unless advertising is configured. Applicable consent controls and provider disclosures must be enabled with any advertising deployment.
